Following a successful 2009 with work on display in open competitions in Derby, Buxton, Rotherham and Thorseby Galleries I start 2010 with exhibitions at The Little Gallery in Belper and Lally Gallery, Erewash Museum with different styles of work on display.
Following this I have my first themed exhibition entitled 'Through the Seasons' ,a collection exploring the forest, the trees within it and their earthly beginnings.
I use texture to convey the infinite changing shapes of the trees and colour to capture the essence of the seasons. The series starts with the new greens of spring and ends with the cold greys and browns of winter. In between the summer brings the dark shimmering green and autumn the peak of nature's palette in the yellows, reds, russets and golds of the English woodland.

I am a self-taught artist. Inspired by the landscape and nature and the way both are constantly changing. Painting is my opportunity to share a personal interpretation of what I see. I work mainly in acrylic paint and ink but the delicate use of shimmering pearlescent and metallic powders give a sense of movement to my work. I use the unpredictable flow of inks which either pool or run through the texture to give each painting its own individuality.
